A Legacy of Service and Light
Samine Parris-Stowes is a dedicated public servant, decorated U.S. Army veteran, and passionate advocate for community engagement and social awareness. With a diverse background spanning decades of military service, federal employment, and philanthropic work, Samine has built a life defined by commitment, leadership, and compassion.

A Legacy of Service: From Army to Advocacy

Samine’s journey is rooted in a profound sense of service that began with her distinguished 25-year career in the U.S. Army. Retiring in 2014 as a Sergeant First Class (SFC), she honed her leadership and mentorship skills across two specialized roles:

  • Career Counselor: For over 13 years, Samine guided and mentored fellow soldiers, helping shape the next generation of military leaders.
  • Medic: During her first 12 years of service, she provided critical care and support, demonstrating unwavering commitment to the well-being of others.

Public Service and Community Leadership

After her military retirement, Samine transitioned her dedication to public service into a civilian role with the U.S. Social Security Administration, where she serves as a Social Insurance Specialist and Claims Representative. Her daily work continues her lifelong mission to uplift and assist others through integrity and empathy.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Samine is an active and proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, where she exemplifies leadership and advocacy through community outreach.

Her contributions include:

  • Commonwealth of Virginia ZMN State Coordinator: Collaborating with the Zeta Male Network to engage men in the sorority’s mission and community initiatives.
  • Human Trafficking Awareness Advocacy: In January 2024, Samine attended a Congressional Briefing in Washington, D.C., focusing on human trafficking awareness. The event, sponsored by the Alpha Lambda Alpha Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, brought together advocates, legislators, and community leaders to combat human trafficking. Samine’s involvement reflects her ongoing commitment to amplifying the voices of victims and supporting awareness efforts through education and collaboration.

Dedicated to Illumination

In all her endeavors, Samine Parris-Stowes strives to be a “legacy of light” — an individual who uses her experience and voice to empower others. Whether serving her country, assisting the public, or advocating for the vulnerable, her journey is a testament to the power of one person to inspire meaningful change.

“Every act of service, no matter how small, is a light against injustice.”
